Persil ProClean Laundry Detergent + Giveaway

PersilDetergentPersil_Laundry_DetergentPersil_Laundry_Detergent_liquid

Earlier this month we welcomed the birth of our newest family member, Lewis and I am dyyyinnng to share pictures of his first week with us.  But trust, I’ll be sharing that news soon enough.  I’m a proud mama after all; and despite the sleep deprivation and around the clock nursing, I’m making it a point to share the news soon.  Till then, I’ve leaked a couple of pictures of the little guy on my Instagram page for you to sneak a peak at :).  But first, I have to share my experience with my new friends over at Persil, a ProClean Laundry Detergent company; who just days before little man’s arrival sent me some awesome laundry detergent to test out.  P.S.  how could I not test it out?  The detergent bottles came well packaged with a black bow tie.  Now, that’s professional.

Perfect timing I tell ya!  I still had a stack of newborn clothes, crib sheets, and burp bibs that needed to be washed in preparation for Lewis’ arrival.

I first mentioned in this post that I was going for an all-white nursery, so the bulk of my items to be washed were just that- whites.  I turned to Persil’s Power-Pearls to ensure my adorable white newborn onesies, white crib sheets, and white baby blankets were going to stay just that: white and adorable.  With flying colors, Persil passed.  With the success of my whites staying ultra white, I finished off my loads using the Power-Liquid and Power-Caps.  I gotta say, the Power-Caps are genius.  Their pre-measured capsules is what made me a fan, right from the get-go.Persil Pro Clean

Good news for those of you reading this, with the launch of Persil ProClean Laundry Detergent, they are hosting a giveaway!  The FIRST winner will win a years supply of Persil, PLUS a night out on the town: which includes a $300 Nordstrom gift card, $200 Open Table gift card, and $150 Uber.com card credit.  A SECOND winner will be chosen to win a years supply of Persil products.  To enter, all you have to do is simply head over to their website to fill out the sweepstakes form.  It’s that easy.  Seriously, click the link and enter.  Contest runs from now until 4/12/2015.  I’d enter myself but I’m sort of…kind of…well, contractually obligated not to since this was after all, a paid post.  Even though that’s the case; my thoughts and opinions about Persil are 100% all mine.  Not a robot on the other end typing away.

Good Luck!

Sincerely, Kymberly

Pregnancy Update: 8 months

thegreatromance-8 months pregnant1.  What were the highlights from your 8th month?

Originally I didn’t plan to take maternity pictures at the tail end of my 8th month of being pregnant because I knew I was going to be at my largest; but looking back at the finish product, I’m so glad I waited.  Not only did the shoot go as planned, but the pictures turned out top notch.  Plus, rockin’ a fuller belly is sexy on a whole new level ;).

Secondly, scheduling my delivery :).

2.  Any “ugh” moments?

I’m notorious for being a mamarazzi- always filling up my phone of pictures of Harrison and our daily excursions, but sadly I only took a handful this past month because my household spent 3/4th of the month sick :(.  Being sequestered at home didn’t call for many good photo ops.  The flu rotated amongst us all and I still have a lingering sinus infection that just won’t let up.  I kid you not, we went thru a Costco pack of Kleenex this month.

3.  What’s on rotation in your wardobe?

Our coastal town is now feeling the warm spring-like weather,  so I’ve taken the liberty of cutting a couple of my maternity jeans and created cut-offs.  How’s that for saving on maternity shorts? 🙂

4.  How has your body changed?

I can absolutely tell my belly is fuller and that baby is without a doubt larger even if my weight only went up 2 pounds.  Despite the low weight gain this month, I’m in line with what my weight gain should be which is a total of 32 pounds.

5.  With less than a month left, how are you feeling?

Two words: excited and curious.  Excited knowing a new member of our family will be here soon.  I’ve gone from saying I’m “x amount of ” weeks to now saying “x amount of”  days.  FYI: I’m at 20 something days….aghhhhhh!!!!!

I’m equally curious in regards to how it will change our family dynamic.  I’ve spent the last 2.6 years with it being just the 3 of us that it’s only natural things will change.  All for the good I’m sure, but it doesn’t make me less curious to see the change unfold.

Sincerely, Kymberly

HGTV Dream Home 2015 and Tips on How to Get the Look

HGTV dream home 2015 pinterest photoWhose with me with loving HGTV?  (Insert “hand’s up in the air” emoji.  Like, double tap.)

HGTV is one of my go-to channels to watch as I’m a sucker for beautiful homes.  Each year I’ve come to look forward to their Dream Home giveaway and I often end up entering for the chance to win just that–  a dream home.  However, this year I’m extra excited about the giveaway as the dream home is located in Martha’s Vineyard.  Before our recent trip to Cape Cod, I’d been in love with the lifestyle and homes in Massachusetts.  So it’s no surprise, I’m going to be entering daily for this coastal retreat.  From now till February 17th, you can also enter for the opportunity to win 2015’s dream home.  Oh, and I’m totally encouraging you to do so too!  I mean, who wouldn’t want to live in a classic home on the coast?  Cue, me swooning over here…

Okay, okay…back to you, my friends…just follow this link to enter too!  (Don’t forget– you can enter DAILY!)

I’d like to obviously win the home, but how cool would it be to know someone who did?  Maybe you could invite my family over to stay?  Just a thought 😉 …

Here’s what the HGTV Dream Home looks like from the front and it’s backyard:

Impressive huh?  Just wait till you see the interior…

But don’t worry your little heart if you don’t win the HGTV Dream Home giveaway.  You can still recreate the look for your own home.  I’m sharing with you 5 tips on how to get the classic coastal look:

1.  Start off with a blue and white pallette:  Set the tone with predominate blue and white tones in your furniture, paint, and decor.  You can then intermingle additional blue tones such as teal, light blue, or even green.

For a pop of color add subtle hues of orange, pink, coral or red to compliment a blue and white coastal home.  hgtv_dream_home_2015_great-room_view-toward-front-doorhgtv_dream_home_2015_master-bedroom_01_hero-shothgtv_dream_home_2015_guest-bedroom_01_hero-shothgtv_dream_home_2015_kids-bedroom_white-dresser-armoire-with-green-chairs

2.  Texture is key:  the easiest way to accomplish this is by adding wood furnitures in darker shades with light/whitewashed furnitures.  I’m also a huge fan of mixing painted grey furniture and driftwood decorations to add to the coastal charm.hgtv_dream_home_2015_artistic_hardwood-flooring-great-room_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_great-room_sunny-hallway_h.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.853hgtv_dream_home_2015_great-room_rustic-ceiling-beams-closeup_h.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.853hgtv_dream_home_2015_artistic_outdoor-seating-bedroom-patio_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_dining-room_table-detail_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_guest-bedroom_driftwood-sculpture_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920

3.  Adding nautical decorations: going literal with anchors, boats, fishes, and seashells (just to name a few) isn’t a bad thing at all, and in fact does define coastal living.  Just remember a little can go a long way so scale back or add more nautical accents as needed.  Also, think about tip #2 and adding different textures.  Metals and woods can easily go together when styling your nautical home.hgtv_dream_home_2015_great-room_alternate-DSC9646_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_artistic_framed-metal-fish-sconce-great-room_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_guest-bathroom_orange-flowers-counter-closeup_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_guest-bedroom_nautical-decorations_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_laundry-room_artwork-closeup_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_piece-of-the-dream_1-3-basket-guest-bedroom-DCP0090_h.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.853

4.  Build up a book collection:  scattering stacks of books on your tables are decorations in itself.  Look for books on knots, sailing, beaches, etc  that you adore.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many coffee table books I’ve collected solely for its cover aesthetics.  (That’s code for I don’t read them, I just collect them.)hgtv_dream_home_2015_great-room_blue-urn-artwork_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_great-room_alternate-EPP6451_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920

5.  Lastly, lighten up a room with mirrors:  when you think of a beach home you think open living space.  Draw back your curtains to allow for light to be drawn in.  Then add mirrors to accentuate, creating a more bright and airy feel to your coastal retreat.hgtv_dream_home_2015_master-bathroom_01_hero-shot_h.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.853hgtv_dream_home_2015_master-bathroom_artistic-mirrors-bathtub_v.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.1920hgtv_dream_home_2015_laundry-room_candlelit-washroom_h.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.853Sincerely, Kymberly

Pregnancy Update: 7 months

7 months pregnant // sincerely kymberly

1.  How did your 7th month of pregnancy go?

Overall, great!  Family was in town to celebrate Christmas and then we enjoyed a post-Christmas road trip up the coast of California.  Checking out the central coast had been on my 2014 to-do list and I’m glad I got to sneak in the trip just days before the year ended.

Braxton Hicks on the other hand- those are getting more intense; but it’s just another reminder of how close I am to meeting lil man :).

2.  With two months left, what’s on your baby to-do list?

A few things:

-I’ve finally got all the nursery art ordered and delivered so I’ll be tackling hanging up the decor.

-Touring the hospital and filling out admissions forms ahead of time.

-And lastly, admitting that I need help.  Let the hiring process begin…

3.  Any new fashion update to your wardrobe?

Although I can fit most of my regular tops, I’m starting to notice that their lengths are creeping up on the belly and aren’t as long as I’d like them to be.  So, I’ve snagged from my husband’s closet one of his button up shirts to wear over my leggings, as it’s been providing that much-needed length to cover up this booty ;).  Other than that- the wardrobe has remained the same: sporty-chic.

4.  What’s the highlight of your 7th month?

For Christmas I received several items off my registry.  My favorite being this bad boy.  I’ve mentioned my love for it before, and I truly believe it will make co-sleeping and recovering from a c-section much easier.

5.  How’s the growing baby and how are you doing?

There’s no doubt we are packing on the L-B’s.  Baby is getting chunkier as the days go by and it’s evident in his movement.  His kicks…oh man, are they intense!  Just lay me down and my belly starts moving and shaking.  It’s an internal house party up in thurr.

Me, I’m packing on the L-B’s.  Specifically all the weight I gained was in a weeks span.  I’m still not sure how I feel about gaining 6 pounds in one week…

Sincerely, Kymberly

2014 Year in Review

family selfiefamily of threeBefore the year ends, I’m going to take a minute or 10 (if you read slowly) to reflect at how 2014 unfolded.

(P.S. there is absolutely nothing wrong if you read slow.  It just let’s me know you are totally  letting    each.   and.  every.  single.  word.  I.  write.  sink.  in.  – so for that, thank you!)

How should I summarize 2014?  Hmm, how about I break it down in accordance to the core of my blog: “A California wife and mom inspired by fashion, family adventures, and coastal living.”

Fashion:  is still very much a part of my life and since getting pregnant in June, I’ve had to become a bit more creative in styling myself.  But hey, it’s  a challenge I welcomed :).

Although my blog has greatly evolved from its initiation in 2011, where it was heavily fashion driven, I still include stylish posts.  This year I incorporated a new series, “Where to?  Where this?” and although I haven’t written one of them lately (been too busy sharing my personal family adventures), the WTWT posts are still one of my favorites to create.

Family Adventures:  With our feet firmly planted in Santa Barbara, we enjoyed exploring our town at length.  Living within eye sight of the water, we often ventured to the beach for walks and to search for shells.  I’ve since built a pretty extensive collection of seashells totally worth a pat on the back for.  Looking back at the year, we are also fortunate to have made many friends whom we shared weekly playdates with.  Over the summer I invited our friends to celebrate our son’s 2nd birthday.   When family came into town to visit, we made sure to introduce them to some of our favorite Santa Barbara hiking spots: a Monarch Butterfly preserve and a local Harbor Seal sanctuary.

Just a short drive away, we explored the famous Bubble Gum Alley in San Luis Obispo and continued to take trips to our old stomping grounds of Orange County– one specific trip being to Disneyland; a first for Harrison.

Several trips outside of California included  Colorado for a ski trip.   I honestly find great irony in wanting to travel to see snow.  I clearly forgot that snow=cold.  Then in the summer we ventured to Moab, Utah to  celebrate my sister’s wedding and to clock in some major hiking mileage per my Strava app.  We capped off our fall with a two-week East Coast trip that left us loving the New England lifestyle.

Coastal Living:  after years of being admirers of sailing, my husband and I became certified sailors (see Instagram pics here).  About the same time we signed up for our course, we found out we were pregnant which made it all the more difficult since I suffered from horrible morning sickness.  With the help of anti-vomitting medicine, I stuck through the course and I’ve gotta say, I do love sailing.  We have even made it a family affair;  and our young Harrison has ventured the open waters with us on several occasions.

As my final post of the year, I have to say thank you to my friends, family, bloggers, and brands that have supported Sincerely Kymberly.  It absolutely brings a smile to my face having followers, receive comments, likes, shares, and emails from supportive people.  My blog will always be a fun place for me to share my life; and any recognition I get is only topping on the cake :).

Okay, okay; enough sentimental stuff.  2014- you rocked.  Over and out.

Sincerely, Kymberly
