Outgrowing An Infant Car Seat

I can remember when my husband and I decided to go shopping for a car seat.  Being first time parents, we found it both daunting and thrilling.  We did our infant car seat shopping at a local baby store, Bel Bambini in Costa Mesa, California.  Bel Bambini has turned out to be one of my favorite spots to get cool, hip, baby and parent gear.

After viewing the several options Bel Bambini had, we chose the Graco SnugRide Platinum infant car seat.

-It’s compatibility with several strollers.  We have both the Bugaboo Cameleon and BOB Revolution SE stroller.  With an addition of an adapter, we were able to take our little man from the car and onto the stroller without ever having to take him out of his car seat.  Hence, we were able to keep our little sleeper, sound asleep :).

-It’s compact size.  At 7.5lbs, the car seat is one of the lightest car seats available.  Since I was the one mostly hauling my son and the car seat around, it was important to have a car seat that was lightweight.

-It’s color.  I’m a sucker for black and gold :).

-Plus the reliability of the name, safety and features helped to solidify the purchase.

Added bonus: after purchasing the Graco car seat, I noticed it was a favorite with a few celebrity momma’s and poppa’s.

But I’m really writing this post mostly in reflection of how much our son has changed.  It’s shocking to think of how one day he was our tiny newborn and is now a toddler!  Harrison went from being this tiny 7.5 pound baby…

Like every parent says, time truly does fly by!
