Ditte Isager Ballet inspired photo shoot

In yesterday’s post, I promised a part two to the ballerina trend.  In my search for ballerina inspirations, I came across two gorgeous photo shoots from Ditte Isager and Jessica Claire that are perfect!  For a wedding, it’s a concept I haven’t seen and would love to witness it first hand.  But if you’re not planning a wedding, there is no reason you can’t plan a ballet inspired party!  This theme would be great at a bridal shower, an evening of cocktails with your girlfriends or a birthday party!  To re-create the look, muted pastels should be your color palette mixed with either gold or silver (I prefer gold), lots of feathers (think Black Swan) and tulle.

Ditte Isager; LOVE the flower girl outfits!

Ditte Isager; tulle, tulle, and more tulle!

Monique Lhuillier ballet inspired gown (I love the one on the left!), 2012

For a cost efficient dress ($1700) this Watter's "Sydney" dress (2011) also has a ballerina ode with the tulle overlay. Love this!

Watter's style 7541 chiffon dress is flowy- just like a ballerina's dress should be! It makes the perfect dress for whatever ballet inspired occasion you attend!

Slip on ballet flats for the full effect! I'm loving these Chloe flats! (They also come in black for the black swan in you!)

Want to introduce another color into the mix?  How about a “barely mint”?  It’s not typically a ballerina color way, it compliments well with the pale pinks, creams, charcoals that are usual ballerina-like colors.  Also, the mint color compliments well for your fellow male beau!  (Sometimes the pink can be too one-sided!)

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dior, Oscars 2009. Don't you just love the color mint, tulle and gold accent?

Don’t forget about yesterday’s post, feel free to look and re-fresher yourself on more clothing inspirations.

As for the table setting, this photo shoot by Jessica Claire (jessicaclaire.net) is flawless!  I’m loving the idea of tulle skirts for chandeliers (also depicted in the Ditte Isager photo shoot), rosette linens, gold chivalry chairs (complete with tulle skirt) and plus it has a striking balance of vintage meets modern.  Another added bonus, there are great shots of the black swan to inspire the inner bad girl in you!

Sincerely, Kymberly
